Playa Del Carmen Airbnb and Airport Transport Recommendations
What I did, how I did it, and how much I paid so that you can save money on your PDC trip
No need for any fluff, let’s just jump right to it!
Let’s start with the Airport transportation.
I decided to that on my way to PDC I was going to take the bus and on my way back I was going to get a private transport. Both were significantly less expensive than what I’d pay in the States but one was truly a sneeze in the bucket. Let’s start with the more expensive option:
I connected with Mish on a Playa Del Carmen FB group and her transport services came very highly recommended by other women in the group so I reached out to her on WhatsApp. She’s an NYC native who comes from Latin roots that moved back to Latin America with her family just before the pandemic. She’s sweet, friendly, SUCH a New Yorker (an energy I didn’t realize I missed until I met her) and she owns several businesses in PDC; one of which is a transportation service catered to women travelers. That’s not to say that if you’re a man or are traveling with men that she won’t transport you! She just knows what it’s like to be a woman traveling solo and the anxiety that can come with that so she made a transportation service to help women feel more comfortable in her little corner of Mexico. Clearly, I love her, and she took me directly from my Airbnb to my gate for $45 (technically it was for $20-ish because she split it between me and one other woman she was driving to the airport). If you’re planning on coming to PDC and want a private transport, DEFINITELY hit her up on IG. Also she, and her company, does transactions in Venmo or cash (pesos) which is very helpful.
Now for the MEGA affordable option…
